School Of Thought

Different Schools of Thought

Throughout the history and experience of the entire human collective 'Schools of Thought' developed in order to allow an individuals innate and inherent gifts, interests, and passions to rise to levels of competent mastery. Some cultures grouped natural scholastic abilities into groups identified with symbolic glyphs. The northern people used Totems, some Petra glyphs, some hieroglyphs, some constellations or 'star' signs, others grouped them into 'clans' or common families using entities from nature, such as the, Bear Clan or Eagle clan. In London the city itself was used as the hub or common meeting ground of the commonwealth (wheel) of the people the landscape around London was drawn as a circle around the city and divided into 12 slices of the pie each slice being called a guild (craft/skill/interest).There were Map guilds (Amerigo Vespucci was one, we honor him with name America), coopers (barrel making), there were Smithies (metal workers), etc.

Avocation (play/joy) was to be
one's Vocation (work/purpose)

As young people got to know themselves they would query a guild that fit their interests for membership in order to 'apprentice' (begin to learn) the craft, in order to discover, to find if in fact it was their purpose of Signature or life work. The work that would fulfill them and give them joy each day so as to live a life of meaning and service to themselves, their families and the community at large. After a time of apprenticing their skills would become obvious so they were advanced to a higher level of exposure to the craft. In this they were given an advancement in pay/reward their journey of commitment gave them the title of Journeymen...meant as an Honor of Merit, skill, and Achievement. They were at that point allowed to work side by side a Master Craftsmen of the trade. In time as Insights deepened and skills reached the level of 'Unconscious Competent' meaning they acted, thought, and achieved...without conscious focused effort...a zone of performance at it's highest art, science and method. At this level the honor of 'Master Craftsman' was bestowed upon them by their fellow in the Craft. If ever in the course of study an individual acted in anyway with a lack of honesty, integrity or authenticity...there would be a vote taken among the Master Craftsmen. If they determined it necessary (if the student lacked commitment or character) they could cross 'x' or’t’ the individual from the Order of Craft. This is where the word Guild (t) came from...guilty.

The brilliant way of hands on instruction in the atmosphere of multi-generational tutoring and advancement worked in amazing and remarkable ways...that lifted the entire citizenship of the country where it was embraced. It advanced skills, happiness, invention, creativity, meaning and purpose, self-esteem, confidence and a sense of community. This eventually led to primary and secondary schools where the 18 year olds taught the 17 year olds who taught the 16 year olds, who taught the 15...right on down to age 3.

When anyone teaches anything to another that person who teaches owns the skill, information, solution at a level that is not possible to achieve in any other way. The act of sharing seems to be built into the very core of human experience by natural inheritance of design.

Gnosis Praxis Entelechis

tO KNOW. tO DO. tO BE. This wisdom of the past, again was an observational genius that led to the understanding that, first you have to know. Once you 'know'... you can then 'do' that which you 'know'. That, once you 'DO' that which you 'KNOW' you become that which you 'DO'. Upon one becoming that which they have done...it elevates them to a place of 'higher knowing' thus 'greater doing' and in this a state of 'greater being'. This process is eternal... meaning, never ending, an upward spiral of joy and achievement.

Scholastic Mastery leads into the
Endowment of ones own Genius

There is a huge gap between 'scholastic ability' (which is a natural inherent gift of every human being) and what we call formal education of today that is built upon the 'academic indoctrination' of chant(rote) memorization of pre-selected answers that are determined to be 'correct' responses to the blanks on an exam... given as a measure of time spent chanting the answer in order to get a star or 'grade' to move on to the next level of academic(literally means Trivia) instruction and exams.

"It is possible to store in the memory of the mind a million chanted facts for exams and still be entirely uneducated. True education is the deepening of Insight... not the ability to be a parrot of exam answers."
